Transcript: Hi this is Amy Chadwell, and this is how to download audio books from HPULIbraries. HPULibraries now has access through NCLive to a collection of downloadable audio books from One Click Digital and Recorded Books. To get started, you need to set up your account with the service - do this on campus to get authenticated. Now you can log in from anywhere and download books in this collection to your PC or Mac and then transfer the book to your portable device. To create your account, go to our Online Resources A to Z link on the main HPULibraries website. Under A - choose Audio Book Downloads from Recorded Books. Next, you'll choose Create New Account in the upper right. As you're inputting your account information, for which you can choose your login and password for yourself - you can also put in your options. Here's where you'll choose your operating system - which will change your options significantly. If you have a windows operating system, they recommend choosing the OneClick Digital Media Manager to handle your downloads. This is a small program that will install to your computer either now or you can do it later. You also can tell the system what type of portable device you want to transfer the audio book to. If you aren't using a portable device, you can listen to the book on your computer through the digital media manager. OneClickDigital just added the capability to use a Mac computer to download and transfer files. Once you've created your account, you can start downloading books. So for this example, I've checked out Stephen King's Shawshank Redemption and this will prompt a little file to download dependent on your browser - that may show up as a pop-up window or as I'm using Chrome - in a little box at the bottom of my window. It will then open in your OneClick Digital Media Manager and start downloading. You can check the progress of the download and also renew your book should your come to the end of your seven days, as well as return the book so someone else can check it out. From here - you can also tell the book to transfer to your portable device if it is connected. If you have questions about this service, please ask us.
