Frank Sheffield was a prolific amateur filmmaker who lived in Americus, Georgia, and traveled the world. He made 16mm home movies from the mid-1920s through the mid-1960s. In 2009, his grandson, Sheffield Hale, donated Frank's 64 reels of 16mm and 3 reels of Super 8mm films to us. Frank was an avid pilot, boatsman, and traveler, often shooting film from a plane, canoe, or car. These scenes are from a 1940 springtime boat ride around Charleston, SC, and a 1941 trip to New York City and Gloucester, Massachusetts. Frank Sheffield Family Home Movie Collection.
