Wow! - Over 3 million hits!!!!!. Sure makes me very happy. Proof so many people want to hear the old tunes, no matter what age they are. Thank you everyone! ;-) Hi 78 lovers. I'm Liz and I'm still on here....amazingly!. 'Sharing the shellac' with my faithful 1958 Decca record player with its nice glowing dusty valves....and its third stylus in ten months!. And a big 'hello' to UMG, WMG, Koch, Sony Music Entertainment and all the new ones springing up, who've blacklisted 475 - yes...475! - and wiped away 27 of my clips already. I'm simply boosting awareness to younger generations - and your therefore your future sales. So a nice big 'thank you' would be welcome :-) I'm glad Dad kept my previously posted films on DVD-R, because here they are again....and many more! A lot of these 78's belonged to my grandparents and great-grandparents (RIP Grandma x). They had a wind-up HMV player and always took it out with them in their old Humber car for picnics and holidays. Dad looked after them for a while, but needed space for his hoard of old vinyl, so I was thrilled to be the new owner of these 'heirlooms'. They now share my small dining room with the Decca, a load of wires, and my PC. I've always loved 40's and 50's music along with the fashions and styles. Cars, clothes, furniture, the dances, you name it...what a great era. Wish I was a teen then :-( Hope you enjoy listening to my shellac gems. The hissing, crackles and pops too!. Liz x PS: Most of the details I write have been scoured off the 'net, the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles and the latest Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide. I'm no music history expert (yet), so if any details are wrong, please let me know. PPS: On a few really quiet and hissy records, dad's recorded them via his PC and made them a tad better. Otherwise I'd have to give 'em a miss, and we don't want that, do we!. PPPS: If anyone objects to the tunes I've posted, please get in touch and I'll delete them within good reason.
